Spain: Nissan workers protest against closure of Barcelona plant

Nissan workers gathered outside the Montcada i Reixac plant in Barcelona on Thursday to protest the Japanese multinational’s decision to close its facilities in Catalonia. The protesters demanded an industrial plan for Nissan’s Catalan plant that would ensure they keep their jobs. According to reports, 3,000 people will lose their jobs as a result of the factory closures, which will affect between 15,000 and 20,000 people who depended on Nissan indirectly.
