Austria: COVID sceptics hold massive rally in Vienna

Demonstrators took to the streets of Vienna on Saturday, January 16, to protest government measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. Organized by the ‘Querdenken’ movement, the rally is expected to take place at Heldenplatz. Austria is since December 26 under its third strict coronavirus lockdown, which includes the closure of all non-essential businesses and movement restrictions, in an attempt to cut community transmissions to slow the spread of the virus. Austria has recorded 392,511 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 7,053 deaths with the disease, according to Johns Hopkins University. FORUM
