Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said it will take years for the USA to redeem its reputation following US President Donald Trump’s administration and the recent storming of the US Capitol, during a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday.
Speaking to his cabinet Rouhani said, “The American people themselves witnessed what damage this man did. America’s prestige in the world will take many years to return to the day before Trump.”
“We see a fall accompanied by shame and disgrace from the White House. And a sign that bullying, racism and breaking the law will not end well in the world,” he added.
Speaking about US sanctions and President Donald Trump’s policy of ‘maximum pressure’ Rouhani said, “The policy of maximum pressure and economic terrorism of the United States is facing a definite and certain failure.”
“On a day when the Iranian people are feeling victorious in the face of this pressure and this terrorism, the American people are witnessing a major setback in their social and political life,” he added.
