Italy: Fireworks set off and flares burn as Lazio Ultras mark club’s 121st anniv in Rome

Hundreds of Ultras supporting the S.S. Lazio football club, one of the two main clubs in Rome, gathered this Saturday in Freedom Square to celebrate the 121th anniversary of their beloved team.

Fans celebrated with firecrackers, flares and fireworks and waived club flags as they sang songs.

Freedom Square, known locally as Piazza della Liberta, where the gathering took place is the historical spot where the football club was founded in 1900 by Luigi Bigiarelli, a local athlete and sports manager.

Police officers were present during the celebrations.
